To conceal their identities, they rarely wear a uniform and usually wear civilian clothing both on and off duty.^[15] When military uniforms are worn, they lack markings, surnames, or branch names.^[15] Civilian hair styles and facial hair are allowed to enable the members to blend in and avoid recognition as military personnel.^[

The first CIA Delta Force team were on the ground on the 26th September 2001. They formed  an alliance with The Northern Alliance, by paying them large amounts of money.
The main reason they were in Afghanistan was to sabotage key players in the Taliban and kill or capture Osamba Bin Larden as he was behind the 911 attacks that bought down the Twin Towers and the Pentagon was partly damaged.
